Kyle Skinner (they/them) is a composer and percussionist based out of Plano, Texas. In training under Mr. Jon Lee, they have received prime instruction and have received high marks at both Regional and State competitions for solo marimba. As a composer, they study with Dr. Lane Harder and have had works premiered by high quality ensembles, such as the Plano East Senior High School Wind Ensemble. Their composition for trombone octet was selected to be a part of the 2024 International Trombone Festival and they’ve been commissioned to write forms of sacred music. A devout Episcopalian, Kyle loves to write both sacred and secular music. Kyle’s identity as a queer individual intersects deeply with both their faith and music.
